The final LTM for the Fortnite Cosmic Summer Celebration challenge event has finally gone live, and players will be entering The Pit Creative LTM for a building and fighting free-for-all. The Pit is a somewhat difficult game mode created by Geerzy, and it will be a challenge for players to complete their final activities and earn the last of their Summer Celebration reward cosmetics and XP. In The Pit, players select a loadout and enter a room tiled with blue and yellow squares. The room is otherwise empty, allowing players to build structures, destroy opponent structures, and engage in firefights freely.
There are four challenges associated with The Pit, and players only have a few more days to complete them all. The Fortnite Cosmic Summer Celebration ends on July 6, 2021, so fans wanting to experience every LTM and collect all the associated cosmetics will need to be strategic. Here's how to play The Pit during the Fortnite Cosmic Summer Celebration and all the challenges and rewards players should complete while there.
Gameplay in The Pit during the Fortnite Cosmic Summer Celebration is fairly straightforward: players must build their own structures for cover and height and fight and eliminate their opponents. To access The Pit and join the fun, players will need to open Creative from the game menu, choose Change to access the Creative Mode menu, and select Play. They will then need to input the Island Code 4590-4493-7113 to get the LTM version of The Pit for the celebration.
More than likely, all players participating in a match in The Pit will want to complete their last batch of Fortnite Cosmic Summer Celebration challenges. These are specific to The Pit and include the following activities:
- Get headshots in The Pit (50)
- Eliminate players with five different types of weapons in a single match in The Pit (5)
- Build structures in The Pit (500)
- Destroy structures in The Pit (500)
Building and eliminating opponents should be easy for Fortnite fans, but getting headshots in The Pit is somewhat trickier than it looks. Players will need to look for opportunities to get around opponent structures or reach high ground before an opponent destroys their structure to land those hits.
Players can select five different kinds of weapons (Assault Rifle, Sniper Rifle, SMG, Shotguns, Pistols, etc.) before entering The Pit for the match, then cycle through them to complete their challenge, but they must eliminate, not just damage or down, their opponent before swapping guns to ensure they reach the goal. Additionally, while destroying structures, if players reach a tall enemy structure and destroy its lowest support layer, everything above it will also break and count toward the 500 structures needed to complete that challenge.
For playing in The Pit during the Fortnite Cosmic Summer Celebration, players can receive 105,000 XP toward their Season 7 Battle Pass. They can also unlock the following rewards:
- Brain Freeze Whirlberry Back Bling (Build structures)
- Stellar Sipper Emote (Destroy structures)
- Marshmallets harvesting tool (Eliminate)
- Cloud Llama Board Glider, Golden Wave (Headshots)
Players will need to complete at least two challenges in The Pit and all other challenges from the other Creative Mode LTMs to complete the Complete 12 Cosmic Summer Quests challenge and unlock the Lil' Treat emote, which is a tiny ice cream truck that players can briefly ride around in.
