Among Us: What's Really In The Airship's Safe (& Why)

The most recent map added to Among Us, the Airship, introduced a variety of new tasks for players to work with. One of these tasks involves unlocking a safe located in the ship's cargo bay; however, crewmates aren't able to actually take a peek at the safe's contents. In late May, the developers of Among Us finally revealed what exactly is hiding inside the Airship's safe.

When it was initially released in March 2021, many players came to consider Airship the most difficult Among Us map. There were several reasons for this. The size of the map was one factor in this, but on top of that, Airship added multiple new tasks into the game. These gameplay adjustments weren't always well-received. Learning the layout of a new map while simultaneously trying to learn new game mechanics proved to be a challenge for many Among Us fans.

Fortunately, members of the Among Us modding community have taken steps to try and help solve the issue. Several mods that aim to improve the Airship map have emerged, and other pre-existing mods have been recommended by players to help improve the experience. Most of these mods attempt to increase the challenge by providing Imposters with new methods of getting around, such as digging new vents or even teleporting among crewmembers at random.

One of the new tasks the Airship adds into Among Us involves unlocking a safe that can be found inside the cargo bay of the map. It's a fairly long task, and requires players to enter three consecutive numbers in the correct order by turning the dial in the direction indicated by the game. Once unlocked, the task is considered complete. However, players don't actually get to see what's hidden inside the safe upon successfully unlocking it. This left many Among Us fans to wonder what exactly could be contained inside the safe, and whether they would ever get to see it.

InnerSloth finally provided the answer to players on the official Among Us Twitter account back in late May, revealing that the only thing inside of the Airship's safe is a teddy bear:

This appears to be a reference to Henry Stickmin, which seems fitting given that the Airship is a Henry Stickmin-themed map in the first place. In the third game, Infiltrating the Airship, players can steal a safe from a ship's cargo bay only to discover that it contains nothing but an old teddy bear. While this may not be the exciting answer some Among Us fans were anticipating, it's a clever reference that helps further the connection between the Airship and the series it was inspired by.
